Rhonda MappFounder · Racing to Feed America

Rhonda Mapp, one of women's basketball legends, born in Charlotte NC and raised in Asheville NC, knew she had what it took to follow her dreams of becoming a professional basketball player in the United States. Prior to being one of the original players drafted first round third pick by the Charlotte Sting in the first historical WNBA Elite Draft in 1997 as a starting forward who became a valuable contributor to the team by averaging over 11 points and 5 rebounds per game, post injury averaged 15 points in her next four games, Rhonda started achieving her dreams of becoming on of the greats in basketball history.

She led her high school to a 4-A State Championship, won an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Championship with the Charlotte Monarchs, heavily recruited by every University in the country for which she decided to attend NC State University. She spent six seasons abroad averaging 18.1 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for a total of 13 years playing in countries such as Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Korea and Israel. and won her first WNBA Championship in 2000 with the LA Sparks.

Rhonda has also been an invaluable source of support and advocacy for numerous charitable organizations and causes in various communities, more specifically The Greater Charlotte NC Community. Her active participation and commitment to the community has been the impetus birth of her nonprofit organization, Racing To Feed America, where she brings solid work ethics, tenacity and respect for families who are in need.

Feeding her community in her home town of Asheville as been first priority and now she looks forward to setting the bar higher by feeding the people all across the country and making a great impact on communities.
